It is the first institute in Punjab established initially as Department of Architecture, Government Engineering College, Bathinda by state government in the year 1989. Over the years, school has evolved as an excellent education centre with state of-the-art studios, laboratories, computer centre, library and workshops, and continuously achieving excellence in imparting good technical education with the help of its highly qualified and dedicated faculty. Twenty nine batches of architects have graduated from the institute till date.
The school offers full-time graduate (Bachelor in Architecture, Bachelor in Interior Design) & Post-graduate (Masters in Planning) courses . The curriculum is as prescribed by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi and MRSPTU, Bathinda. The course is recognized by Council of Architecture (COA).
The teaching learning process in the school lays emphasis on holistic design of buildings and spaces through understanding of multi-disciplinary approaches for various aspects and issues of built environment.
Department of Architecture,GZSCCET has been declared as“Best Architecture college” by IKG PTU, Jalandhar among all the colleges under PTU in 2014.
