In GZS PTU Campus, Bathinda, NCC Started in the year 1996. The Scheme started with one unit of 20 Punjab Batallion. In 2010, another unit of 2 Punjab R & V Sqn was added. Currently the combined sanctioned strength of cadets in the campus is around 100.
The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. In line with the spirit of NCC, Campus is dedicated to support and organize various activities under the able guidance of NCC battalion authorities. The Campus has its trained and well qualified ANO and Caretaker for running theses NCC units. The activities wherein the Campus is actively involved in promoting the cadets to participate include Institutional Training and Camp Training, Social Service, Community development, Adventure Based Learning and Sports , Personality Development, Competence Assessment / Certificate Examination etc

National Cadet Corps is a dynamic organization with a diversified team of truly talented , motivated and Outstanding young men and women . It plays a dominated role in building nation and instilling selfless service , discipline and leadership in young people . Cadet from National Cadet Corps are trained, so that they can enter the military forces . It develops a sense of devotion in the cadets to the value of National Integration, nationalism and secularism. These characteristics will not only assist the youth become responsible citizens , but will also aid in the realisation of India’s vision of development .It does an excellent job of physically and emotionally developing the cadets . The well designed curriculum of National Cadet Corps consisting of variety of training , adventure , cultural and social events ,is of enormous value to the next generation , enabling them to take on this challenges of this modern world .
Major Jaspreet Singh
Jaspreet Singh S/O Prof. Mahinder Singh is an alumnus of this Campus. He was the students of Civil Engineering of 1998 batch. He was enrolled in NCC and a C-Cert Holder. He got selected for permanent commission through SSB, Bangalore in Nov/Dec, 2005 under Technical Graduate Course. He joined IMA, Dehradun in Jan, 2006 and got commission in 6 Engineers regiment. He joined his duties at Centre of Madras Engineers group at Bangalore and did his Young Officers Course at CME Pune. He served at places namely Kanchra Para Unit 6 Engineers, Fort Williams under special assignment, Bathinda under 20 Engineers regt. He was posted as AGE/GE at Thoise (Laddakh) airbase for three years. Presently He is posted as part of UN Peace-Keeping Force Contingent in Democratic Republic of Congo. Throughout this span he has been an outstanding sportsman. At college level also he got positions in various sports competitions.
Er. Harpreet Singh
Harpreet Singh Brar S/O Sr. Gursevak Singh Brar, a student of Civil Engineering of Batch 2K10 got selected in Indian Navy as Sub. Lieutinent in the Year 2K13-2K14. He got it through University Entry Scheme. He took the exam in 2K13 in his prefinal and cleared SSB at Bangalore. He underwent twelve month training at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala. Mr. Harpreet has been on the roll of NCC as cadet from 2K10 to 2K12.
