Computer Science & Engineering Department is one of the largest departments of Giani Zail Singh Campus, MRSPTU, Bathinda. The first batch of our department was started in 1997. Alumnus of this department are working in high profile IT sectors like ORACLE, INFOSYS, ACCENTURE, WIPRO, HCL and other major IT sectors in India and abroad. The biggest strength of this department is Training and Placement cell, the faculty and student’s placement cell is formed to motivate and encourage students for placements. This department is fully equipped with modern softwares and tools in labs with high end PCs. In the field of research, Ph.D qualified faculty is available to guide Ph.D and M-Tech students. The department regularly organizes various technical and co-curricular activities to engage students and enhance their talent.  The department offers excellent academic environment with a team of highly qualified faculty members to inspire the students to develop their technical skills and inculcate the spirit of team work in them.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)

1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

1. The engineering graduates of the program will possess strong fundamental concepts in Computer Science, engineering and Technology to perform and evaluate the complex challenges in the field of engineering.

2. To learn the latest knowledge and programming skills in the field of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology for evaluating, analyzing and developing complex engineering problems of domains of network and software programming objectives.

3. To develop a positive attitude and aptitude for research, internship and research based higher studies in the field of Computer Science & Engineering.

The ALUMNI of Department of Computer Sc. & Engg. is very strong and one of ALMA MATER has conducted a 6-week ONLINE training for the Final year and Prefinal Year B-Tech (Computer Sc. & Engg.) students. The training was very successfully conducted by Manzeera Solutions, British INDIA Co. in the month of Feb-2021. This company has offered our department’s students for a great opportunity for internship for the acceleration for IT Job.

3 students of BTech CSE batch 2019 got placed on 01/09/2022 in Company: ChicMic, Mohali with Package of 2.1 LPA (1 candidate ) and 2 candidates with package of 3.6LPA. Selected Students are Rishabh, Samridh and Baljit Singh.
