The Department was established during the academic year 1997. Presently the department is running the courses at BTech; MTech; PG Diploma and PhD level. Deptt also has AICTE-QIP centre for undertaking full-time PhD. Qualified and Experienced team of faculty members with wider experience in areas of System Software, DBMS, Mobile and Computer Networks, Graphics and Image Processing and Computer Architecture. Motivation to students with immense expertise, massive technical exposure & structured creative initiatives.
Industrial visits to various renowned companies to pave way for the students to get exposed to varied atmosphere. Mini projects and In-plant trainings to impart practical knowledge to the students. Inter-Collegiate programmes, a platform for the students to equip their knowledge in all fields, are conducted.
The Department has air conditioned and fully equipped Labs with latest Software and Hardware, which caters to the Computation needs of the students and faculty of all departments.

Computer Science & Engineering Department is one of the largest departments of Giani Zail Singh Campus, MRSPTU, Bathinda. The first batch of our department was started in 1997. Alumnus of this department are working in high profile IT sectors like ORACLE, INFOSYS, ACCENTURE, WIPRO, HCL and other major IT sectors in India and abroad. The biggest strength of this department is Training and Placement cell, the faculty and student’s placement cell is formed to motivate and encourage students for placements. This department is fully equipped with modern softwares and tools in labs with high end PCs. In the field of research, Ph.D qualified faculty is available to guide Ph.D and M-Tech students. The department regularly organizes various technical and co-curricular activities to engage students and enhance their talent. The department offers excellent academic environment with a team of highly qualified faculty members to inspire the students to develop their technical skills and inculcate the spirit of team work in them.

Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

This company has offered our department’s students for a great opportunity for internship for the acceleration for IT Job.

organized second AICTE approved Short Term Training Program on “PYTHON PROGRAMMING” in the current year 2021. This STTP commenced on 15th march to 20th march in online mode. The expert from various reputed institutions has delivered their expert lecture on Python Programming. The main experts are Dr. B. Mathura Bai, Associate Professor and, VNR College Hyderabad delivered their lecture on Basics of Python and detailed introduction given by Dr. N. Sudhakar Yadav , VNR College Hyderabad on Lists, Tuples and Dictionaries in the first session and further extended his session on Numpy and Pandas of Python Programming.

A Short Term course was organized by CSE and CA Deptt. From 29th august 2016 to 2ndSept 2016 on the topic on “ICT BASED OPEN SOURCE TECHNOLOGIES” at Computer Centre. The Course was presented By NITTTR and was very beneficial for faculty.

A Workshop on Big data and Hadoop was organized by department of CSE, GZSCCET Bathinda on 15th Sept,2016conducted by experts from IBM carrier education. Workshop was attended by students of CSE and CA of GZSCCET, Bathinda. The topics discussed were DBMS, RDBMS, Data Warehouse, Big Data, Variety of Data, vmware, Hadoop installation and working, Data Analysis and many more.
